Privacy Policy — CondoTaxi

This Privacy Policy explains how Swan Htet Kyaw (“we”, “us”, “the operator”)
collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the CondoTaxi
mobile application (the “App”) — a private, closed-loop taxi dispatch service
operated for residents and drivers of participating condominiums in Myanmar.
The App is for use by approved residents and drivers only. It is not a public
ride-hailing service.
If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.
1. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to dispatch rides within the condominium.
a) Information you provide
- Phone number — used to sign residents in via a one-time SMS code (OTP) and to contact you about a ride.
- Name — your display name, shown to the driver or resident on a trip.
- Profile photo (optional) — if you choose to add one.
- Trip details — your pickup point, chosen destination, and the agreed price.
- Chat messages — messages you send to the resident or driver in an active trip’s in-app chat.
Drivers additionally provide vehicle details (plate number, model, colour, seats) and an account email used to sign in.
b) Information collected automatically
- Location. When you request or track a ride, the App reads your device’s location once, at that moment, to set your pickup point and to show a driver’s position on the map. The App does not track your location continuously or in the background.
- Push notification token. A Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token so we can send you ride updates (e.g. “driver assigned”, “driver arrived”).
- Diagnostic / crash data. If the App crashes, we collect anonymous crash reports (device model, OS version, and the technical stack trace) to fix bugs.
c) Driver vehicle location
Driver vehicles are tracked using dedicated in-vehicle GPS devices, not the
driver’s phone. When you are tracking a confirmed ride, the App shows that
vehicle’s latest position so you can see your taxi approaching. This location
belongs to the vehicle/device, not to the driver’s personal phone.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- verify your identity and sign you in (phone OTP for residents, email for drivers);
- match ride requests with available drivers within the condominium;
- show pickup and vehicle locations on a map for an active ride;
- enable in-trip chat between resident and driver;
- send ride-status push notifications;
- diagnose crashes and improve the App’s reliability.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
3. How your information is shared
Your information is shared only as needed to run the service:
- With the other party on a trip. A resident’s name and pickup location are shown to the assigned driver; the driver’s name and vehicle details are shown to the resident. Chat messages are visible to both parties on that trip.
- With service providers (data processors) that operate the App’s infrastructure on our behalf:
- Supabase — backend database, authentication, and realtime updates.
- Google Firebase — push notifications (FCM) and crash reporting (Crashlytics).
- Google Maps Platform — maps, place search, and directions.
- Traccar — receiving location from the in-vehicle GPS devices.
- SMSPoh — delivering the one-time sign-in code by SMS.
These providers process data only to provide their service to us and are bound by their own privacy and security terms.
- For legal reasons — if required by law, regulation, or a valid legal request, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of users or the operator.
We do not otherwise share, rent, or sell your data to third parties.
4. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as long as
needed to provide the service. Trip records and chat messages are retained for
operational and record-keeping purposes. Crash reports are retained for a limited
period for debugging. When you ask us to delete your account (see Section 6), we
delete or anonymise your personal data, except where we are required to retain it
by law.
5. Security
We protect your data with industry-standard measures: encrypted connections
(HTTPS/TLS) between the App and our servers, access controls that scope each
condominium’s data to that condominium, and authenticated access to all personal
data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your information.
6. Your rights and choices
- Access and correction. You can view and update your profile information in the App.
- Location permission. You can decline or revoke the App’s location permission in your device settings; some features (setting a pickup, tracking a ride) will not work without it.
- Notifications. You can disable push notifications in your device settings.
- Account and data deletion. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by contacting us at the address below, or through any in-app account-deletion option where available. We will action your request within a reasonable period, subject to any legal retention obligations.
7. Children’s privacy
The App is intended for adult residents and drivers of the condominium. It is not
directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from
children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please
contact us so we can remove it.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise
the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App.
Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
